Valentines Cream Tea

On Friday 13th February a group of Year 7 Heathfield students served a cream tea and homemade scones to residents from local care homes for a special valentines get together at Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre.




The students worked really hard and managed to bake an astonishing amount of 180 scones! The students personally served the scones to the residents along with hot drinks and a selection of freshly baked cakes.


Residents were also treated to performances from The Space students who sang Valentines songs, Bolder Dance Company who performed their Café dance and our wonderful community group Singing For Fun had everyone singing along. Personal interaction between the students and the residents made the event a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all.


Below are a few comments that the students have given regarding the event:


The cream tea event was an incredible experience for us and all of the lovely visitors. I really enjoyed being able to bake the scones for the guests. There was some exciting entertainment being shown such as a restaurant themed dance, a choir of singers from The Space singing Valentines songs and at the end everybody sang along.  This was a fun opportunity for myself and Ella Pike to get up and dance! – Daisy Hodder 7E
