The Veil Series

Zahra Hoccom was born in Somerset and is a recent Drawing graduate from Falmouth University. Using print, drawing and photography as mediums to illustrate her ideas, her work focusses on issues stigmatised in Western culture. Most recently these include human existentialism into life’s finitude; racism, sexism and homophobia. Her most recent project titled The Veil Series, involves exploring the veil and its multi-faceted symbolism through the medium of Photography & Photoetching printmaking. Zahra’s aim is to create a conversation around the issues of racism in Western societies and highlight the need for equality.
