Our Company in Residence aKa Dance Theatre Company are looking for 2 South West based dancers to help with the creation and tour of their upcoming project – shed-ache. See below for more details from Jen and Joe.
aKa Dance Theatre are on the look out for 2 South West* based dancers with great physical theatre experience to join us in the creation and tour of our latest work shed-ache.
aKa (Jen and Joe) are led by silliness and care. We want to work with people who love to be silly and are invested in becoming part of a family feeling company.
shed-ache is aKa’s latest family friendly work aimed to make space for children’s mental health and help younger audiences contextualise thoughts and emotions through fun and engaging dance theatre. shedache is a lively, cartoonish and unifying show that we can’t wait to take on the road.
Audition details
Saturday 18th November 11.30am – 4pm at Tacchi Morris Arts Centre (School Rd, Monkton Heathfield, Taunton TA2 8PD).

- Creative tasks
Project details
Your lovely self must be available for the following rehearsal dates taking place in Taunton
- Tuesday 2nd January – Friday 5th January 2024 (4 days)
- Tuesday 9th January – Friday 12th January 2024 (4 days)
- Monday 29th January – Thursday 1st February 2024 (4 days)
Further rehearsals and tour dates to be confirmed.
Fee is £600.00 per week (4 day week @ £150.00 per day) x 4 weeks = £2400.00
We are looking for movers and shakers that…
- *Live in Somerset, Bristol, Exeter or 45mins away from Taunton as most tour dates will be in Taunton, Somerset and surrounding areas.
- Have good/flexible availability from February 2024 – September 2024
- Are playful, friendly, focused, committed and enjoy collaborating.
Jen and Joe are particularly eager to work with people who are part of the global majority, LGBTQIA+, disabled and/or are neurodiverse.
