Thu 1 Jan, 10am-1pm

Taunton Live & Pride and the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre collaborate to bring this unique and exciting FREE creative writing workshop by local writer and educator, Molly White.

This workshop entails exploration of inspiring and thought-provoking LGBTQIA+ writing throughout history, including the likes of Sappho, Allen Ginsberg, Lillian Hellman, Sarah Waters, Alice Oseman, Dean Atta, and CN Lester. Centralised around the theme of ‘Celebrate, Educate, IntersectionALL’, the session is divided into three key areas of focus: Exploration, Writing, and Development.

Our young people are encouraged to analyse and scrutinise extracts, using these as stimuli for their own writing and exploration. Following insight into a variety of writing styles – such as Poetry, Short Stories, Non-Fiction, Graphic Novels – they will then critically analyse their own creative works to develop and enhance initial ideas.

The workshop culminates in a display and performance at this year’s Taunton Live & Pride Literary Area on Sat 16 Jul 2022.
