ITV Tour de France commentator Matt Rendell shares stories from his 25 years’ covering the Tour – and his dealings with cycling’s big names from Eddy Merckx to Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish to Chris Froome.
In a revealing and entertaining night for cycling fans new and old, Matt brings a mix of first-hand experiences of the biggest races on the calendar, bizarre/hilarious personal tales and thought-provoking ideas about the future (and history) of the sport.
Matt Rendell will be in conversation with former Procycling magazine writer Duncan Steer. There will be a chance to ask your own questions. This is a brilliant event, for cycling fans new and old.
About Matt Rendell
Matt Rendell is an award-winning author and journalist. He is a member of ITV’s presentation team at the Tour de France and, as a translator, reporter, commentator and podcaster, he has contributed to British Tour coverage for over 25 years. Matt created the Real Peloton podcast and hosted ITV’s Tour de France podcast. He has written for the Observer, New Statesman, Guardian and Financial Times, as well as the principal cycling magazines and websites. His many books include The Death of Marco Pantani and Colombia Es Pasión! When not writing, he leads cycle tours in Europe and Colombia.
