Students have taken inspiration from the flora-rich hedgerows of England. Thick wood and farmland borders, fringed with umbrella-like clusters of cow parsley, coarse tufted grasses and tangles of rambling brambles, honeysuckle and dog rose, overhung by mature oak trees.

They explored the lines, textures and colours of our hedgerows, experimenting with mono-printing and layering techniques; free motion embroidery, applique and use of soluble fabric.

Taking influence from their artist research, they developed and combined their ideas to create a three dimensional mixed media final piece.
