SPACEFest: The Ballad of Maria Marten
Summer, 1827. In a red barn Maria Marten awaits her lover. A year later her body was found. It was an event that had all the hallmarks of a classic crime drama – but in all the hysteria Maria’s own story was lost.
This spine-tingling retelling is performed by Maria and those who loved her rediscovering her story, bringing it back to vivid urgent life.

SPACEFest
SPACEFest is a Contemporary performance festival created by The SPACE Company, incorporating two plays and an original dance show.
Alongside Portraits of Her performed here at Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre on Thu 7 & Fri 8 Mar, The SPACE are also performing The Ballad of Maria Marten on Thu 22 & Fri 23 Feb, and The Crucible on Wed 13 & Thu 14 Mar.
