Page is Printed Creative Writing Competition
23/02/2024

Thank you to everyone that entered The Page is Printed 2024: Creative Writing Competition with Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre.

We had a record number of entries this year, presenting a real mixture of creative ideas and fun approaches. In particular, we had a large number of entries from across the world which was very exciting and two of our U18s winners are from Australia and Singapore. Needless to say, the standard of this year’s entries was of a very high quality.

The Page is Printed: Creative Writing Competition is all about providing opportunities and encouraging people to write and express themselves. Limiting entrants to one side of A4 and running it as a competition helps with motivating and focusing people, but the main purpose of the event is to encourage and celebrate creative writing. Therefore, anyone who sits down and writes a piece is making the event a success.

We will be exhibiting this year’s winning and highly commended entries in an exhibition in our gallery spaces that will run from Mon 26 Feb to Mon 22 Apr.

We wanted to thank this year’s judging panel made up of lead judge and award-winning poet Graeme Ryan, author Clare Donoghue, Lionel Ward owner of Brendan Books (Taunton’s favourite independent bookshop) and writer Molly White. They generously gave their time to read the pieces, provide their feedback and agree upon the results making this all possible.

Once again, congratulations to the winners and thank you to all who entered.
