Visitors to the art centre over the past couple of days will have noticed something a little different. Something festive! Yes, the Christmas spirit has hit us here, and our foyer is now adorned with beautiful lights and decorations, plus our wonderful Christmas tree is now standing proud.

Upstairs we have another surprise. That’s right, Santa Paws AKA Leccie the Techie is making an appearance and can be found near our bar area – why not join him for a photo when you’re next here?

You may also notice some great signs that have been placed around the centre. With it being pantomime season, and to celebrate Robin Hood opening here on Dec 8th these have been created to bring a further taste of Sherwood Forest to Taunton – for example you’ll find that the Spotlight Bar has been temporarily rechristened ‘The Lady Marian’. There are other signs around the centre, can you find them all?

Thank you to our brilliant staff and volunteers for enabling this yuletide transformation. You can check out our decorations for yourself over the next few weeks when visiting us for any of our remaining shows, classes and events this side of Christmas – whether you’re here for our comedy special, Miracles – the unmissable magic show, the ballet, or our fun-filled family pantomime, take a moment to have a look around and enjoy the scenery.
If you’re looking to decorate your own tree and are in need of some ornaments, whilst also wanting to support a worthwhile charity, why not make a donation to Taunton Open Door and take home one of these beautiful pieces donated by local crafters? Ask at the box office if this is something you wish to do.

However you’re spending your December, we wish you and your nearest and dearest a wonderful time. We hope to see you all soon!
